Hi, I am Rod. I have held many roles, my most relevant are those with Service NSW, their equivalent of the Department of Transport and Main Roads. I worked as Customer Service and Licence Testing Officer for more than 9 years. This included class C driving tests (manual and automatic), aged driving tests for those over 75, driving tests with people with disabilities, Rider tests (Motorcycle) and also Truck driving tests HR, MR, LR licences. Working as a licence tester has given me a comprehensive understanding of the requirements to pass your driving test as well as be a responsible and safe road user. It inspired me and showed me the importance of a qualified driving instructor. As a professional driving instructor, it is about helping others achieve their goals. Teaching them and providing them with knowledge and experience that will last for a lifetime. I love the feeling when my students, who have struggled, conquer a new technique. The shift in confidence as they progress through different challenges that they face is awe inspiring. I have been living in Cairns for over 3 years now. I have 3 children who are my world. We love spending time together, being a driving instructor enables me to structure my work around my family life.

I never drive a car before, I was extremely nervous at first but he's incredible patience, and confidence that I could do it, got me through those first few hours. Every mistake was an opportunity to teach me another aspect of driving. He were always encouraging, making me more confident in my own skills while explaining where I was going wrong and how to do it better next time. Rod is an excellent driving instructor. He will assess your skills on feedback sheets like the actual driving examineer on your every lesson and then guide you through the learning process logically and efficiently. He is pleasant, his instructions are clear, and you always feel you are in safe hands.
