Submit the driving instructor application form (form E175)

Submit the completed E175 form along with the supporting documents:

  • Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport Driving Instruction), or equivalent if applicable
  • National Police Certificate

Complete a theory assessment (if required)

Go for a medical check-up

Complete the Practical Driving Assessment (if required)

The Department of Transport may require you to complete a Practical Driving Assessment to demonstrate your driving competence. You will need to supply the vehicle for the assessment.

Pay the licence fee

Once all checks, assessments and documents are approved, pay the licence fee. Your Driving Instructor Licence will then be issued.
